InterpreData, in collaboration with Naturalis Biodiversity Center, is inviting approximately 10 timber importers to become founding participants in a limited 6-month pilot starting October 2026.
The programme will evaluate how DNA-based species verification and digital evidence records can complement existing documentary due diligence systems.

The Problem
Supply Chains Need Greater Scientific Confidence
Global supply chains are becoming more complex, while regulatory expectations continue to increase. Organisations importing and trading regulated commodities need greater confidence in the identity, origin and traceability of the products they source.
Traditional documentation alone may not always provide sufficient assurance. Independent scientific verification can strengthen due diligence by providing additional evidence to support informed decision-making.

Species Uncertainty
Can you confidently verify that the supplied material matches the declared species?
Verification Gaps
How do you independently verify information provided by suppliers when documentation alone cannot confirm the biological identity of a product?
Supply Chain Transparency
Increasingly complex global supply chains require better visibility and stronger supporting evidence.
Regulatory Pressure
Regulations such as the EUDR require organisations to implement robust due diligence processes supported by reliable information.
Our Solution
Scientific Verification for Modern Supply Chains

How It Works
From Sample to Scientific Confidence
Every project follows a structured scientific workflow designed to deliver clear, evidence-based results that support business decisions.
01
Define the Objective
We work with you to understand your verification requirements and determine the most appropriate scientific approach.

02
Sample Collection
Samples are collected and documented using robust chain-of-custody procedures to maintain traceability throughout the process.

03
Laboratory Analysis
DNA is extracted and analysed by experienced laboratory partners using appropriate molecular techniques.

04
Bioinformatics & AI
Genetic data is processed, compared with reference datasets and interpreted using advanced bioinformatics, with AI supporting data organisation and analysis where appropriate.

05
Scientific Review
Our specialists review and interpret the results, ensuring findings are clearly presented and supported by the available scientific evidence.

06
Reporting & Support
You receive a professional report together with guidance to help integrate the findings into your due diligence and decision-making processes.
