OUR SERVICES
Scientific Verification for Complex Supply Chains
InterpreData combines DNA analysis, bioinformatics and digital traceability to provide independent scientific evidence that can strengthen product verification and supply chain due diligence.

Core Services
From Biological Sample to Scientific Evidence
Our services connect laboratory science with advanced data analysis and practical reporting, helping organisations better understand and verify the biological materials within their supply chains.
Species Verification
Confirm declared species
DNA analysis provides independent scientific evidence to assess whether timber is consistent with the species declared by the supplier.
Typical question:
“Is this timber actually the species my supplier says it is?”
Applications: Routine verification, supplier validation, high-value timber and risk-based due diligence testing.
Species Identification
Identify what the timber actually is
Where a sample is not consistent with the declared species, or the species is unknown, DNA analysis can be used to compare the timber against reference data and identify the most likely species or closely related species.
Typical question:
“If it isn't the declared species, what is it?”
Applications: Species substitution, supplier investigations and procurement decisions.
Geographic Verification
Assess geographic consistency
Genetic information can be compared against regional reference populations to assess whether timber is consistent with its declared source region.
Typical question:
“Is this timber consistent with where my supplier says it came from?”
Important: Geographic resolution varies by species and depends on the availability and quality of appropriate reference data.
Digital Traceability
Connect samples, data and evidence
eCollect creates a Digital Twin evidence record linking representative physical samples with collection information, photographs, location data, shipment information and chain-of-custody records.
This allows evidence to be retained for shipments that are not initially selected for DNA testing, with samples available for future scientific verification if required.
SCIENCE + TRACEABILITY
TraceBase verifies the shipments you test.
eCollect preserves evidence for the shipments you don't.
From species and geographic verification to long-term digital evidence records, our services are designed to complement existing due diligence systems with independent scientific evidence.
TraceBase
Connects scientific verification results with the tested sample and its evidence record.
eCollect
Creates and retains a Digital Twin evidence record for shipments that are not initially selected for scientific testing.
Together, they provide a practical way to extend evidence across a risk-based timber verification programme.
NOW IN THE NETHERLANDS
Experience Species Verification Through Our 2026 Pilot
InterpreData is inviting approximately 10 timber importers to participate in the Netherlands DNA Verification Pilot.
The six-month programme provides an opportunity to explore DNA-based timber species verification within your own supply chain while helping us refine our future European commercial services.
